This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 10 am–11 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Osite African Hot Pot at (832) 869-3356; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is ositeafricanhotpot.square.site, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Houston is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Houston is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Our first time ordering from them and the pizza was great, handmade and fresh. The restaurant is very big, spacious and well decorated but the air conditioner wasn't feeling well. We ordered to go, but we waited for a bit inside and then decided to go to the car. We only tried the pizza and we can say anything about the rest of the food.

I had the Abacha here yesterday (it came with fish and all), and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The seasoning was outstanding; it brought out the taste of every ingredient without being overpowering. It was flavorful and satisfying, and you could tell that a lot of care went into preparing it. If you’re looking for a tasty and authentic Abacha, I highly recommend trying it. I will definitely be coming back for more!
